Provides for training and assessment of Senior Authorised and Authorised Persons in the theoretical and practical knowledge of their Company’s Safety Rules and related health & safety procedures for work on electro-mechanical systems.

Learning materials and assessment questions verify users’ knowledge of the Rules and procedures, and typical practical situations verify the SAP’s ability to seek out the information required to make the correct decisions about how to apply the Safety Rules and procedures. Subjects include

Safety Rules questions (The ‘Challenge’)
Specific procedures (e.g. work in confined spaces)
Radiological Safety Rules
Control Person duties
HP Heaters
High Voltage Switchboards
Gas Filter
Main Oil Tank
Overhead Lines and substations.

As a result of working with a number of companies, a bank of over 900 questions has been developed which can be customised for specific companies or locations to accommodate variations in rules and procedures, differing plant configurations and authorisation levels, and cover nuclear, coal fired, CHP, and CCGT power plants.

Location Managers decide which elements are undertaken. The assessment results can be used to identifying strengths and weaknesses, and provides objective information to aid the periodic re-assessment of the SAP’s continuing competence.
