Maersk Information Management Center
If one of our products doesn’t quite fit your business need or you’d like something completely different we can develop a specific solution for you. For example, the A.P. Moller-Maersk Group required a system developed to their exact requirements to manage their employee development programmes ...
The Maersk Information Management Center (MIMC) leverages the benefits of centralised database connectivity in a multi-tier application with the ease of deployment to participants and managers around the world.
Capable of running on SQL Server 2000 and Microsoft IIS v5 or v6 it provides at-a-glance analysis of training results, assignment of training modules to users and management of multiple global training programmes for the A.P. Moller-Maersk Group.
The system allows information about the participant to be stored with easy access including a photograph and details of the training programme they will be completing.
MIMC is fully integrated with training programmes. Participants submit assignments via the system, which are then available to Instructors to grade. On a preset date the grades are made available to participant’s managers before finally being made available to the participants themselves.
The system is developed around a robust database structure providing a reliable and scalable solution for tracking a participant’s progress through their training programme. It is designed to be flexible to include new training programmes as required. The main system is accessible through the Internet and Intranet using a Web browser. Additionally, report generation is possible using the MS Office suite (Word and Excel).
An Admission Test is also integrated into the overall system. This facilitates online assessment of participants’ knowledge in a controlled environment.
MIMC has several access levels with varying levels of authority. The HR / training administrator can also use the built-in quick search facility to easily locate the required participant details or results from within a large quantity of records.
The system was developed by Simpson Communications in consultation with A.P. Møller - Mærsk A/S, Copenhagen, Denmark.
