Fault Localisation

Illustrates and tests the decision making process for sectionalising a faulty circuit on a public electricity supply distribution network.
The user is free to choose the location and sequence of sectionalising, and can attempt to restore supplies via the affected circuit or from another interconnected circuit. These actions are repeated until the faulty section is isolated and earthed in readiness for repair.

Each action and decision by the user is recorded, enabling the tutor to assess and review the user’s effectiveness in limiting lost consumer hours and for compliance with the electricity company’s supply restoration criteria and procedures.
