Background information: The Maersk Company Limited was founded in 1951 in the City of London, and is one of the UK’s largest ship-owners. The fleet operates under British Flag and includes product tankers, gas tankers, container vessels and some of the world’s most powerful offshore support vessels. Other activities include world-wide shipment of containerised cargo, logistics, airfreight, road haulage and warehousing, drilling rig operations, floating production units, maintenance and construction support to the oil and gas and petrochemical industries.
